Uniquely written. A must read for anyone looking for something different. Great artistry and imagery. A nice companion to The Facility.
I don't normally care for post-apocalyptic style anything, but this chapter definitely kept my attention throughout. On numerous occasions it felt more like I was right there watching and listening rather than reading. Very enjoyable reading!
As I read this book (immediately after finishing The Facility) I was eager to get into the 3rd subchapter! I love how this book had me feel like I was there watching the entire thing with my own eyes!
I am so happy I found this novella series; it is gritty, dark, all rough edges & sharp corners, a horrifyingly real pseudo-reality - ALL THE THINGS I LOVE!! I cannot wait for the next installment. Janden, you are currently rocking my world.
I'm not one for lengthy descriptions of the flowering fields or the sky at dawn, so this book does very well for me. Giving just enough to let your imagination paint it's own landscape, all the while keeping things moving so you don't lose a drop of interest. Really sit down and READ this book, because if you don't, you'll surely miss an important detail. I thoroughly enjoyed the rugged brotherhood, and the hope that even in the distant future, there will still be good people in the world, no matter how screwy things get. I purchased both books, and can't wait to dive into the next one!
While in the beginning of this book, I had no idea where it was headed, I was delightfully pleased to see the direction it took. The way the first book tied into the second was pretty cool. Once again it held my interest chapter to chapter, and I felt I could relate to some of the characters really well. I would recommend Daniels books to anyone of my friends who like science fiction, or apocalypse stories.
